Shield Gules a sword Argent in pale pointing to base and hilted Or, flanked by a 6-spokes wheel Argent at dexter and a coronet Or with gemstones of Gules and Azure at sinister.
Meaning:
Mömbris had been the seat of vehmic court on a royal domain. It was closely connected with the German kingship. Around 1500 the Archbishopric of Mainz and the Counts of Hanau-Münzenberg gained the suzerainty over Mömbris. The sword is symbolising the vehmic court, the coronet the kingship and the wheel the archbishopric, which gained the only control between 1738 and 1803.
