From the municipal ordinance on the flag at
http://www.dracena.sp.gov.br/simbolos.php
The flag shall be rectangular, in variable size depending on its usage, its length [fly] being always a third larger than its height [hoist]. [In other words, the ratio is 2:3.--trans.] The field of the flag is divided into three stripes of equal width, the outer ones green and the central one golden-yellow. On the left side [hoist], a triangle, covering the whole height, with the larger apex penetrating the center of the golden yellow stripe [this apparently meaning that the triangle is formed by the hoist and the hoist-side hemidiagonals--trans.], the triangle being red and including three white five-pointed stars, placed at the same distance from each point of the triangle, forming a second triangle. The colors green and golden yellow, representative of the national flag, also symbolize, through their setting, the colors of the dracena plant, from which the city name derives. The three white stars, whose color stands for the peace the people of Dracena want to live and thrive under, also mean:Dov Gutterman, 2 July 2001

The municipality of Dracena (43,263 inhabitants in 2010; 48,804 ha) is located, 650 km northwest of São Paulo. Dracena was founded by Írio Spinardi, João Vendramini, and Virgílio and Florêncio Fioravante. The cornerstone of the new settlement was inaugurated on 8 December 1945, the Immaculate Conception Day, therefore its nickname of "Cidade Milagre" (Miracle Town) given to Dracena. The name of the settlement was adopted after a public contest. The "dracena" (English, dragon tree; Latin, Dracaena spp.) plant has a green and yellow foliage [the national colours] and grows profusely on fertile soils.
The municipality of Dracena was established in 1948 by State Law No. 233, seceding from the district of Gracianópolis (today Tupi Paulista), part of the municipality of Lucélia, and inaugurated on 4 April 1949. State Law No. 2,456 of 30 December 1953 transformed the district of Ouro Verde in a municipality. Since then, the municipality of Dracena has been made of the districts of Dracena (capital), Jaciporã and Jamaica (separated from Ouro Verde in 1953).
