The shield's lower field below the horizontal wavy stripe, green,
symbolizes the land owned by the Companhia Colonizadora Byington, a company
headquartered in São Paulo founded by Alberto Jackson Byington, husband of
Pérola Ellis Byington. The company provided services to the government of the
state of Paraná, and, among others, in the beginning of the 1950s, colonized the
region of the municipality of Peabiru, originating the town of Pérola, today the
seat of the municipality.
The field is charged with a yellow bezant that
represents Pérola Ellis Byington, co-founder of the town of Pérola. The white
wavy stripe, starting from the lower side of the chief and descending obliquely
from right to left, ends in the horizontal stripe. It symbolizes another part of
the water resources of the municipality of Pérola, represented by rivers
Jequitibá, a tributary of the Paracái, bordering (NW) with the municipality of
São Jorge do Patrocínio, and Paracaí, a tributary of the Paraná and bordering
(N) with the municipality of Umuarama, as well as Ribeirão Palmital that rises
in the Municipality of Pérola and flows into the Paracaí.
