The flag and arms of Ivaté are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 26 promulgated on 3 September 1993.

Article 3.
The flag of the municipality of Ivaté, designed by Encyclopedia Simbológica Municipalista Paranaense - ESIMPAR, shall be rectangular, in proportions 14 units in width on 20 units in length, pursuant to Article 5 of Federal Law No. 5,700, with the following characteristics:

I - The flag is composed of two equal fields, in the shape of a scalene right-angled triangle, separated by a white stripe of 3 units in width.
II - The upper triangle is blue and the lower one is green.
III - The white stripe, superimposed with a stripe of 1 module in width, separates the blue field from the green one, running from the upper right angle (hoist side) obliquely to the lower left angle.
IV - The geometric figure placed in the center of the flag, inscribing the coat of arms that represents the municipal government, is a white circle of 7 units in diameter, which symbolizes infinity, as it has no beginning and no end.

The coat of arms of the municipality of Ivaté, designed under the Coordination of Encyclopedia Simbológica Municipalista Paranaense - ESIMPAR, is a Samnite shield, in proportions of 7 units in length on 8 units in width, diagonally divided by a white stripe of 1/2 unit, running from the upper right angle towards the 6th lower left unit, forming two unequal fields, with the following characteristics:
I - Upper part of the coat of arms.
The upper, blue field features a white cattle head in the center, representing one of the municipality's sources of income. The white stripe symbolizes the development of the municipality.
II - Lower part of the coat of arms.
The lower, yellow part of the coat of arms of the municipality of Ivaté features in the center a green mulberry leaf with a silkworm (Bombyx mori) proper, devouring the leaf's upper left part. Silk is one of the town's main sources of income.
III - Additional symbols of the coat of arms.
a) Crown
The shield is surmounted by a mural crown with six towers argent (white), with red doors, only four of them visible. The mural crown with four visible towers classifies a 3rd rank town, that is, the seat of a municipality. The mural crown represents the constituted powers of the municipality.
b) Supporters
The shield is supported right by a sugarcane proper and left by a cotton plant flowered proper, representing Ivaté's main agricultural resources.
c) Scroll
Beneath the shield, a red scroll connects the sugarcane to the flowering cotton plant, bearing the following inscription in black: "2-5-89 - IVATÉ - 1-1-93". The inscription corresponds, respectively, to the creation date of the municipality, its toponym, and its installation date.
