The city flag of Gardena CA is divided approximately 2:3 yellow and white,
with the seal in gray-scale inside a large green letter G.

Checking the city website at www.ci.gardena.ca.us, I note no mention of a flag, although a design very similar to that shown on the attached image is used on the website. The municipal code on-line records:
"Section 1.08.010 Adoption of official seal.
Pursuant to the authority so to do as contemplated by law, the council approves and adopts as and for the corporate seal of the city the following seal, with lettering, form, arrangement and designs as set forth and shown thereon and therein, as follows:
Editor's Note: Because of the size and/or complexity of the graphic set out in this section, it has been removed from this electronic database. This graphic can
be found in the printed code currently on file in the clerk's office or in any recent printed version of the code."
and:
"Section 1.08.020 Abandonment of former seals.
All forms of corporate seals adopted, established, or used by or for the city prior to October 26, 1954, shall be and the same are abandoned and nullified for use. The only form of corporate seal for use by or for the city after October
26, 1954, shall be the form of seal set forth in Section 1.08.010
All forms of corporate seals adopted, established, or used by or for the city prior to October 26, 1954, shall be and the same are abandoned and nullified for use. The only form of corporate seal for use by or for the city after October

It appears the seal was adopted in 1954, although no note of its use on a flag.

The Gardena municipal seal is in the standard circular format. The outer ring is black with gray edging on the exterior and white fimbriation on the interior. At the top of the outer ring the words 'CITY OF GARDENA' are written in large white block letters, while at the bottom the words 'INCORPORATED 1920' are written in smaller red block letters. At each flank on the lower ring are three small red dots. The central image depicts a cityscape consisting of an urban grid, showing freeways and roads crisscrossing each other from the foreground into the middle distance, with stylized vehicles visible on the roads; the color scheme used throughout seems to be white with different shades of purple/violet. In the background is a range of mountains in ocher, the apparent destination of the freeways, while the whole is surmounted by a blue sky. At the top of the sky are the words 'FREEWAY CITY' in minuscule black block letters.
