İSÜ, established in 2015, is composed of 2 Faculties, 2 Institutes and 1 Vocational School.

Marmara University (website) originates in Hamidiye Ticaret Mekteb-i Âlisi, established on 15 January 1883. Affiliated on 21 September 1889 with the Ministry of Education, the school was closed in 1893 for a reform period, and eventually reopened on 15 October 1897. Renamed in 1959 İstanbul Economic and Commercial Sciences Academy, the school was transformed into the Marmara University in 1982.
Marmara University is composed of 17 Faculties, 11 Institutes, 4 Schools and 4 Vocational Schools.
