The esthetics of this logo suggests it was created in the early 1970s. Note the use of the simple green-red pattern to indicate this is a national-level entity in Portugal, replacing more the elaborate inclusion of the national arms, modified or not, typical of decades prior. The same can be seen in the 1981-2005 logo and flag of the national airline TAP and in the houseflag of Portline.
