Shield Or with base wavy of Azure and Argent, an eradicated fig tree Vert fruited Purpure, flanked on chief by two lozenges Sable, the dexter one charged with an animal Argent from a petroglyph. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "CHÃS - VILA NOVA de FOZ CÔA".
Meaning:
The base wavy is a representation of the Côa River on the eastern edge of the commune. The lozenge with animal stands for the archaeological excavations in the Côa valley.
