The arms are Or a triplemount Vert semy of wheat ears Or and in chief two arrows Gules set per saltire and pointing downwards. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "CUMEEIRA - PENELA".

Cumeeira Commune is one of the four communes of Penela Municipality ; it had 1072 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 19.5 km². "Cumeeira" is one of several Portuguese words that mean "summit" or "ridge", so the arms are partly canting.
