Shield Or three lozenges Purple set one and two, in chief dexter a bull head caboshed Gules, in chief sinister a torc Gules, base wavy Azure semy of wavelets Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "PARADELA - MONTALEGRE"".
Meaning:
The unusual wavy base, with wavelets instead of barrulets, might refer to the Barragem da Paradela, a local hydro dam of the same name, on the River Cávado.
