Shield divided per pile of Vert and Or, the pile is charged with a Paschal Lamb couchant, nimbed Or, over a grapevine Or leaved Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "LONGOS VALES - MONÇÃO"
Meaning:
The pile and its green colour are canting representing a valley (Port.: vale) and having the form of its initial. The yellow colour is representing the abundance of the local fields. The Paschal Lamb is representing St. John the Baptist, the local patron saint. The grapevine is symbolizing agriculture. Especially viticulture and the vines of Alvarinho.
