Variant

A variant of this design can be seen, part of a collection of images which includes mostly accurate communal arms depictions. This shows a shield Purpure, charged with a menhir Argent on a plinth Argent and two maize ears Or, leafed Argent, and a garlic sausage Or all set in cross. Thescroll, of the short typonym type, yields only "BOUÇA" I presume this design was a previous proposal suggested to (or by?) the Comissão de Heráldica da Associação dos Arqueólogos Portugueses (CHAAP). The colour of the flag, it was proposed along with, are unknown, although the same plain yellow of the eventually adopted version is certainly possible.
