Meaning:
The charges on chief are a representation of former Queimadela Commune, all other charges of former Monte Commune.

Monte e Queimadela is one of the eight communes of Fafe Municipality created by a merger during the 2013 changes. It had 659 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 20,37 km².

Meaning:
The mount (Portuguese: monte) is a canting element. The base refers to the former use of water power, the cobs to the importance of agriculture.

Meaning:
The bend wavy is a representation of the Vizela River. The oak is the predominant species of local trees. The sheep is symbolising herding as most important business line.
