Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, base wavy Argent a barrulet wavy Azure, charged on central base with a watermill wheel Gules, issuant from base a mount Vert, on dexter chief an acorn Gules leafed and stemmed Vert, on sinister chief a sheep passant Sable. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS" (1st line) "DE MONTE E QUEIMADELA" (2nd line).
Meaning:
The charges on chief are a representation of former Queimadela Commune, all other charges of former Monte Commune.

Presentation of Monte e Queimadela

Monte e Queimadela is one of the eight communes of Fafe Municipality created by a merger during the 2013 changes. It had 659 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 20,37 km².

Coat of Arms

Shield Argent semy of corn cobs Or leafed Vert, base wavy Argent a barrulet wavy Azure, charged on central base with a watermill wheel Gules, issuant from base a mount Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "MONTE - FAFE".
Meaning:
The mount (Portuguese: monte) is a canting element. The base refers to the former use of water power, the cobs to the importance of agriculture.

Shield Vert a bend wavy Argent, charged with a barrulet wavy Azure, on sinister chief an oak eradicated Or, on dexter base a sheep passant Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "QUEIMADELA - FAFE".
Meaning:
The bend wavy is a representation of the Vizela River. The oak is the predominant species of local trees. The sheep is symbolising herding as most important business line.
