It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain red field.

Coat of Arms

Shield Or a fess Vert, charged with two corn cobs Or leafed Argent, on central chief a forceps Gules, on central base a watermill wheel Sable. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "AGRELA - FAFE".
Meaning:
The forceps is an attribute of St. Cristina, the local patron saint. The green fess is a representation of the fertile soil, the corn cobs agriculture. The wheel is referring to the importance of local watermills, used for pre-industrial purposes.

Presentation of Agrela

Agrela was one of the 19 communes of Fafe Municipality affected by the 2013 changes. It had 187 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 1,43 km².

Coat of Arms

Shield Argent with base wavy Azure, a stag´s head caboshed Argent garnished Sable, flanked by a grape bunch Tenné leafed Vert at dexter and a corn cob reversed Or leafed Vert at sinister. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "FREGUESIA DE SERAFÃO".
Meaning:
The base wavy is a representation of the Rio Torto. The stag is symbolising hunting. The corn cob refers to agriculture, especially the production of flour and cereals as most important business line in the past. The grape bunch is symbolising viticulture.
