Presentation of Ardãos e Bobadela

Ardãos e Bobadela was one of the five communes in municipality Boticas created anew by the 2013 changes; the new commune had a population of 463 inhabitants as of 2021 and covers 37,12 km².

Shield Azure parted by a saltire Argent accompanied by three wheat ears Or and in base by a wheel Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "ARDÃOS". For the approved symbols see left images above, for the proposed symbols see right images above.
Meaning:
The saltire is an attribute of St. Andrew, the local patron saint.
The official communal website shows a rejected proposal maybe as a conscious act of defiance, or just because nobody cared to update it. And the same for the use of this flag in 2007-2012: Was the official colour Argent or the proposed colour Or used? And, if the latter, then why? Or both where used, maybe? We dont know.

Presentation of Bobadela

Bobadela was until 2013 one of the communes of Boticas Municipality; formerly named Bobadela do Barroso; it had 354 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 14,78 km².
