Shield Vert two threshing flails Argent strapped Or crossed saltirewise, flanking at chief a crucifer orb Or and at base a chestnut burr Or fruited Sable. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and short white scroll, in Bénard Guedes style, reading in black upper case serifed letters "ARICERA".
Meaning:
The alternative spelling/pronounciation "Arícera" (stressed on the "i", not on the "e") seems to be more seldom, regardless of how correct it may be. The coat of arms certainly favours "Aricera": not only for the spelling on the scroll, but for the use of the burrs as canting elements: While the former is an unrelated word, and apparently meaningless, the latter can be seen as a cognate of "ouriço", which means "hedgehog", "sea urchin" (cp. the canting arms of Ericeira) or "burr".

Shield Vert a billet Argent and tobacco branches Or orlewise, at base a barrulet wavy Argent semy of wavelets Azure. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and short white scroll, in Bénard Guedes style, reading in black upper case serifed letters "GOUJOIM".
The original CHAAP artwork shows the scroll to be of the short toponym style. The number of tobacco branches, although unspecified in the blazon, is shown as two, and placed not really in orle but rather flanking the billet and somehow respectant.
