- Latin name: Meserici; German name: Meseritz; Czech name: Podleské Meziříčí.
The Arms of the City were confirmed by the Law ("Statut") of 2002 (Resolution
# XLV/390/2002 concerning the return of the City's Coat of Arms adopted by the order
of the Minister of Internal Affairs of March 21, 1938.
"Arms: On blue shield, a silver horseshoe, with the rounded part up
and with a silver cross on top and a second cross without left arm placed
inside the horseshoe.
The flag, adopted by the City Council's resolution # XXIV/200/08 on
April 30, 2008, is composed of two horizontal bands: upper - silver (white),
lower - light-blue.
These colors mirror the colors of the Coat of Arms."
