The council informed me their municipal flag was adopted on 12 September 2024, but I saw it being used a bit earlier.

Coat of Arms

image from Facebook

The council informed me the municipal coat of arms was adopted in 1997, being designed by Cecilio "El Pollo" Ramírez Salas. Above the shield is a crown for the Spanish era. Below, a ribbon reads PROGRESO. To the sides, the motto EDUCACION DEPORTE TRABAJO is read [Education, Sport, Work]. At the top of the border, three cactus leaves are seen remembering the environment. In the center of the shield, over a background depicting the sky and ground, is a map of the municipality. Over it a flaming torch for education is seen. Behind, a cogwheel for work/industry. At the bottom, what appears to be a sport is depicted. At the top, the sun and moon.
