The coat of arms of Monte Escobedo was adopted in 2008 through a call for submissions from the council, through which Luis Fidel Casas Ulloa's design was chosen on 2 May 2008. Behind a golden eagle characteristic of the environment are a crossed musket and sword for defense and work. Above is a ribbon reading "BENDITA TIERRA ZACATECANA" [Blessed Zacatecan Land], topped off by a crown for royalty. Below, an oak and olive branch surround the shield, tied together in a ribbon in the National colors. Below is a ribbon reading Monte Escobedo. The border of the shield carries footprints, remembering the Indians that walked through this land. At the top and bottom are crossed arrows. Dividing the shield into four sections are sleeves that carry bullets, characteristic of the Revolution. At the top, a head of cattle remembering the local industry. At the bottom, an image of the gazebo in Zaragoza Park. To the left, a tree typical of the natural environment, especially remembering its location to the foot of a forest. To the right, a crossed saw and hammer for work. In the center is a map of the municipality, bearing a depiction of a corn plant growing under the sun.

The shield depicted a depiction of the forest in the Monte Escobedo Mountains. To the left a cattle for the cattle-raising industry. A golden eagle flies overhead, remembering its fauna. Above the shield is the year 1620, its foundation; above this is a ribbon reading MONTE ESCOBEDO ZACATECANA. To the sides, the sun and moon. Under the shield is a ribbon reading EN TI CONFIADO CANTARE VICTORIA [Trusting in you I shall sing victory], motto taken from a poem written in 1922 as part of the first centenary of the announcing of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception as the town's patron saint.
