Coat of Arms

The coat of arms of Gral. Enrique Estrada was apparently adopted on 7 July 1997, being the work of José Concepción Caldera Armenta. Above the shield and wrapping around behind it is a cob of corn and its husk; at the top are two red branches for decoration. At the bottom, over a tightly woven cap bearing a badge, is the image of St. Isidore the Laborer, patron saint of the Municipality. The border reads the motto "TRABAJO UNION LIBERTAD" [Work, Union, Liberty]. The inner section depicts a ploughed valley, hilly terrain, a path, the sun setting, and at the front an image of a hand carrying a corn plant with the veins of the hand connected to the roots of the plant. This shows that the people are very connected to agriculture.
