It appears San Miguel de Allende does not use a municipal flag.

The coat of arms of San Miguel de Allende was designed by Leopoldo Martínez Cossío, part of the "Friends of San Miguel de Allende" society and presided by its founder José Mojica, who accepted Leopoldo's proposal. It was later on adopted as the coat of arms of the City officially; but it is unknown when, perhaps in the early 20th century. Description as provided by the Municipal Chronicler:
The shield is cut; in the first section, on azure field, indicating the benignity of the climate, a Saint Michael or San Miguel armed with all weapons; the second section carries a field of silver, the shield of the Franciscan Order remembering that Friar Juan de San Miguel, member of the named order, was the founder. It carries a frame of gules, or red, and in it golden letters, the legend which the house of Don Ignacio de Allende carries, leader of the Independence and resident of the Villa of San Miguel el Grande [Hic Natus Ubique Notus; in Latin, signifying born here and in the entire world known. It is framed in wood].
