The municipality of Klinča Sela (4,927 inhabitants in 2001, 1,422 in the village of Klinča Sela) is located some 15 km southwest of Zagreb.
In the 1992 Law on Subdivisions the name of the municipality was spelled "Klinča sela", which was changed in 1995 to "Klinča Sela", more correct according to the Croatian rules of orthograph. In some older books, the name was also given in singular, as "Klinča Selo", but that may not have been the official spelling.

The symbols of Klinča Sela are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu, zastavi i svečanoj zastavi Općine Klinča Sela, adopted on 9 March 1999 by the Municipality Assembly and published in the County official gazette.
The symbols were approved on 18 May 1999 by the Ministry of Administration.
The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka. They are shown on the poster Likovna rješenja službenih grbova odobrena od Ministarstva uprave a na temelju pozitivne ocjene od Povjerenstva za odobrenje grba i zastave (Heraldic Art, Rijeka, 2006).
The flag in use (photo) is blue with the coat of arms, bordered white, in the middle. Both the Decision and the Ministry approval, however, mention a yellow border around the coat of arms
