Variants of the symbols
Flag and arms of Duga Resa, as shown on the Heraldic Art website - Images by Željko Heimer, 21 October 2007
While the Statutes of Duga Resa expressely state that there should be 13 wavy stripes in the coat of arms, the coat of arms shown on the Heraldic Art website have only 12 stripes.
The explanation for the discrepancy is unknown, but I am quite convinced that the 13-striped design is what is used nowadays.

The ceremonial flag is described in Article 10 of the Decision as follows:
The ceremonial flag (gonfalon) is dimensioned 80 x 160, cut so: - at the top three bearing loops and in the bottom three tails, among which the central is the longest. Along the edges it is ornamented with golden border ribbons, and at the bottom of tails with golden fringe. In the centre of the flag is the coat of arms of the Town of Duga Resa, above which is inscribed in golden letters "Grad Duga Resa", and beneath the coat of arms, in the tails of the ceremonial flag, the ornaments in accordance with the graphical design. The hanging equipment is composed of an ornamental gilded staff with balls at the ends and golden cord and hanging rings. The equipment also includes a carrying spear. The ceremonial flag is set with its length vertically.
The description of the ceremonial flag is not included in the subsequent 2001 Statutes; in the 2009 and 2013 Statutes, it is again mentioned, without any description.

Former flag and arms of Duga Resa - Images by Željko Heimer, 21 July 2016
The former symbols of Duga Resa must have been adopted on 10 February 1994 by the Town Assembly, together with the Town Statutes Statut Grada Duge Rese, published in Službneni glasnik Grada Duge Rese, No. 1.
The flag is described in Article 5 as follows:
The flag of the Town of Duga Resa is composed of two horizontal stripes. The top field is white while the bottom is blue. In the bottom and the top field, in the centre, are attached the Tosn's arms. The flag shall be edged around with gold (the official Town's flag) or in a simpler manufacture with white, that is, blue ribbon.
The coat of arms is described in Article 5 as follows:
The coat of arms of the Town of Duga Resa is composed of an oval shield divided horizontally in three fields. In the top field on the background of blue jacket, a very characteristic part of the folk costume of the Duga Resa region, coloured golden, is set horizontally embroidered graphically simple detail of a wattled curl. In the second field flows a wide wavy stripe of the blueish-green river Mrežnica, the other important natural characteristic of the Town of Duga Resa. In the third, lowest field, is visible a part of the Croatian coat of arms, red-silver squares, symbolizing the affiliation of the Town to the State of Croatia. The coat of arms is edged with a golden line of the same width as the wattled curl.
The local magazine Duga Resa Ğ glasnik Grada Duge Rese i općina Barilović, Bosiljevo, Generalski Stol i
Netretić, No. 4, 17 February 1994, reports the session of the Town Assembly during which the former symbols of Duga Rese were adopted (article). A photo shows various proposals being displayed, probably during the jury session.
The adopted symbols were designed by Ružica Salopek, an architect from Duga Resa.
