municipal website) are prescribed by Decision Statutarna odluka o opisu i uporabi grba i zastave Općine Dežanovac, adopted on 30 July 2010 by the Municipality Assembly and published the same year in the Municipality official gazette Službeni glasnik Općine Dežanovac.
The symbols were approved on 5 September 2011 by the Ministry of Administration.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, green with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The symbols were designed by Berislav Schejbal, an archaeologist in the Museum of Daruvar, with a number of scientific works published in journals, who kindly provided drawings and information used on this page. It appears that his original flag proposal had a blue field.

The description of the coat of arms given by the designer is u zelenome polju između dva žuta stupa bijela čaša, more or less, "vert a glass argent between two columns or". The designer's explanation for the "historical background" of the coat of arms is:

The glass refers to the glassworks established in 1804 in Ivanovo Polje, being one of the first industries in the region. The columns remind to the manor of the Drašković family in Dežanovac, whose only remains are those two columns, today part of another building.
