According to Bob Sanders' website, Lykiardopoulo operated in 1954 four ships under Greek and Panamanian flag: Merchant Duke (1943, freight cargo ship), Merchant Prince (1939, freight cargo ship), Merchant Baron (1953, tanker) and Merchant Knight (1952, tanker). The company was also known as Drake Shipping Co. Ltd.

Whilst the company managed Drake Shipping Co. Ltd., I have no evidence of them owning it. The Lykiardopoulos family originated in the island of Cephalonia being involved in shipping from the mid 18th Century. They are shown by Lloyds 1904 under N.G. Lykiardinopoulos showing a yellow and black quartered flag with the black letters "N" and "L" on the respective yellow panels. Lloyds 1912 shows the change to the white flag with red star with the name given as N.D. Lykiardinopulos but after Brown 1929 nearly everyone gives the spelling as Lykiardinopulo to this day as the company still operates as UK based although operating through its Greek subsidiary, Neda Maritime Agency Co. Ltd.
