The flag of Carmena (photo) is prescribed by an Order issued on 26 January 2000
by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published on 8 February 2000
in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 10, p. 979 (text).
The flag is described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular, one and a half time longer than wide, divided in three horizontal stripes, the upper, blue, the central, white, and the lower, green.
The coat of arms of Carmena is prescribed by an Order issued on 26
January 2000 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published on 8
February 2000 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 10, p. 979 (text).
The coat of arms is described as follows:
Coat of arms: Spanish shield. Per pale, 1. Azure a lion rampant proper crowned by a Royal crowned closed or, 2. Argent a tree proper on a base vert. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
The Royal Academy of History found that the proposed arms, based on
models from the late 19th century, "perfectly fit the template and
simplicity of the traditional good style". The Academy recommended to
change the color of the lion, unnecessary assigned as "proper".
The Academy also found the proposed flag "perfectly acceptable".

The coat of arms is based on a hanging used during the Corpus Christi
procession in the capital (Toledo?), captioned Carmena, "Argent a lion
proper crowned a palm tree vert on a base of the same". These arms could
have been derived from the arms of the Carmena lineage, which originates
from the town, suppressing the bordure with saltires and adding the palm
tree.
