Meaning:
Rhoden was generated in 1244 around a castle of the Counts of Waldeck , gained city rights in 1294 and was fortified. The oldest seal from about 1300, but witnessed not before the 16th century already displayed the current pattern of the arms. A secret seal from the 15th century just displayed a 7-point star. Finally a kettle hook was added in the 18th century city seal. The arms were overtaken from Diemelstadt
