Description

Uebigau (written with ue, not ü) is a small town in Elbe-Elster County with about 2,500 inhabitants. The town uses a banner in colours green-white-red with the arms on the white stripe. According to a treaty available online [broken link], the town plans to form a union with the neighbouring city of Wahrenbrück after 31 December 2001. The united city shall be called Uebigau-Wahrenbrück. Section 4 of the treaty ("Preservation of Identity") says that the old arms and flags shall continue to be used in the individual parts, and that a new coat of arms shall be created for the united town (no word on a new flag, though).
