Vanja Poposki: This is already fourth Chinese city flag that appears in
different sources on the net. Would be very nice if there are more :)
Pascal Vagnat: Yes, but there is a notice dated from 18 Novembre 1997 of
the Chinese Central Government that ban making and using local flags and emblems.
See :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Chinese_flags#cite_note-0. The official
exceptions are Hong-Kong and Macau. But that could change, of course.
Vanja Poposki: Yes, I'm aware of that. However, I noticed that very
recently several cities had logo/emblem contests. :)
Mike Oettle: The centralist tendency to avoid local flags is also the
policy of the African National Congress, the ruling party in South Africa. Only
one province, Mpumalanga, has its own flag.
