The City

Jonquière (1912-2002):
According to the city website in December 2000, there was perhaps flag with the city logo. It now forms part of Saguenay.
In 2002, Jonquière merged with Chicoutimi and other municipalities to form the City of Saguenay in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region. Perhaps it had a flag before, but it seems to be using the “Ville de Saguenay” flag now in Jonquière.

The Flag

The flag of Jonquière, Quebec, Canada, proudly flew from 1979 to 2002 (then the town become part of Ville de Saguenay). This flag symbolizes the dynamic and welcoming spirit of Jonquière with its continuous movement, stylized lines, and vibrant colors. The flame and its burst, like a spring, represent a privileged human community driven by collective growth. Unique features include the letters "V" and "J" for Ville de Jonquière and a circle representing cohesion and autonomy in various structures. The colors are black for enhancing appearance, gray for aluminum and industrial success, green for the forest and pulp and paper industry, and blue for water and hydroelectric energy. The logo was created by Yves Collard.
