Symbols

The flag of Jari is prescribed by Municipal Law No. 48 promulgated in August 1997.

Article 1.
The flag of the municipality has for official colors green, white and red. It is composed of three panels, with a design inspired by the flag of Rio Grande do Sul and colors inspired by the flags of Portugal and Italy, representing;
a) Green (vert) is a symbol of honor, civility, courtesy, glee, and abundance and hope; green also recalls the mountains and the greening fields promising profuse harvests.
b) White is the symbol of peace, friendship, integration, work and community harmony.
c) Red (gules) is a symbol of dedication, patriotic love, audacity, intrepidity, courage and valiance.

Article 2.
The flag shall obey the following rules.
I. The flag shall be composed of three panels, green, white and red, in usual shades, green and red forming right-angled triangles and white a quadrilateral ascending between the two triangles, the right angle of the green triangle being the flag's upper left corner and the right angle of the red triangle being the flag's lower right corner.
II. The flag shall feature in the center a white panel charged with the municipal coat of arms.

Article 3.
I. The flag's width shall be of 14 units.
II. The flag's length shall be of 20 units.
III. The coat of arms' width shall be of 7 units, leaving 3 units above it and another 3 units beneath it.
IV. The lesser side of the right-angled green triangle, in upper left, shall have an exact length of 7 units. This holds true for the right-angled red triangle, in lower right.
V. The lesser sides of the white quadrilateral ascending between the two right-angled triangles shall also have a length of 7 units.

The coat of arms of Jari is prescribed by an unreferenced Municipal Law.

Article 1.
A French classical shield, surmounted by a six-towered mural crown, four towers visible. In base, on a field vert (green) symbolizing mountains and plains, a river symbolizing rivers Jaguari and Toropi Mirim, which border the municipality and the small brook that crosses the municipal seat and is the town's namesake, and a bovine cattle representing cattle-breeding. In the center, two strong arms breaking the soil, symbolizing work. In chief on a field azure (blue) the symbol of the missionary presence or, representing religious feeling and culture. The shield supported dexter and sinister by soybean and maize plants proper. Beneath the shield a scroll gules (red) inscribed in white with the toponym "JARI" surrounded by dates "28/12" and "1995".

The coat of arms shall have the following symbolic interpretation.
a) The French classical shield, adopted to represent the arms of Jari, originates of France and was spread all over Europe during the struggle against the Romans and the Barbarians, being later adopted in Portugal, namely to represent the coat of arms of domains and also adopted by Brazilian heraldry to evoke the colonizing race and the building of the nation.
b) The mural crown is the universal symbol of arms of domains; argent (silver) with six towers, four visible in perspective, it classifies the town as of 3nd rank or municipal seat.
c) Argent (silver) is a symbol of peace, friendship, work, effort, prosperity, purity and religious feeling.
d) The shield features in the center two strong arms. The green field, broken by two strong arms represent the manpower of the farmers and canoeists.
e) The base vert (green) recalls fields and mountains, crossed by a fess azure (blue), representing rivers Jaguari and Toropi Mirim, which border the municipality and the small stream that crosses the municipal seat and is the town's namesake. The green field is charged with a bovine cattle symbolizing the municipality's rural origin and the possibility of income increase through cattle-breeding.
f) Green (vert) is a symbol of honor, civility, courtesy, glee, and abundance and hope; green also recalls the mountains and the greening fields promising profuse harvests.
g) In chief, on a field azure (blue) representing religious feeling, culture, union, solidarity, friendship and persistence of the community during the process of political emancipation, a missionary cross or (golf). The missionary cross conveys feelings of peace and community harmony, recalling the local acts of the Society of Jesus in the 18th century and the significant historical and cultural destiny that ennobles the municipality of Jari.
h) The supporters, soybean and maize plants proper, represent the main products of the generous and fertile soil.
i) The scroll gules (red) inscribed in white with the toponym "JARI" surrounded by dates "28/12", the day and month of the municipality's establishment, and "1995", the year of its political emancipation.
