This association was founded by Derkwillem Visser on November 11, 1978 and joined FIAV on 23 December 2001. Following the death of its founder it has been inactive.

The following publications were produced:
Info-Bulletin (ISSN 1383-312X; Dutch/English; semiannual 1978-1999)
Vlaggen-Info (Dutch/English; quarterly since 2000)

Info-FIAV 22 pg.18 indicates that VCDN was remove from membership in FIAV due to the death of Derkwillem Visser, Jr.
