Description of the flag

The flag is a blue field with a colored version of the borough seal in the center.

The seal on the flag is hard to see, though it looks similar to what is seen here: https://www.facebook.com/HonesdaleBoro/photos/

Seal

[Municipal seal] image located by David Sigley, 26 April 2024

The seal shows a yellow maple leaf with a depiction of the Stourbridge Lion steam locomotive. It was transported over to the United States when the Delaware & Hudson Canal Company purchased it, and began using it on their newly built tracks in Honesdale, which became the first commercial railroad in America, traveling from Honesdale to Seelyville.
