Shield Vert, two windmill wheels Argent, rigged Or and ordered per fess, in base a yam root Or leaved Argent, in chief a goshawk Or, holding in his claws an inescutcheon Azure, charged with five plates in quincunx (quina). Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "AJUDA DA BRETANHA".
Meaning:
The goshawk is a local symbol of the Açores. The quina is a national symbol. The other charges are probably representing agriculture.
