Monfortinho was one of the pre-2013 communes of Idanha-a-Nova Municipality; it had 536 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 53,3 km².

Shield Argent, a bar Sable masoned Argent, in chief an eradicated olive tree Vert fruited Sable, in base a miner´s pit lamp Gules with light Or. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "SALVATERRA DO EXTREMO".
Meaning:
The olive tree is symbolising the cultivation of olives and agriculture in general. The pit lamp is representing mining as important former business line. The masoned bar is a representation of a Lusitanian castle, which had been acquired by the Romans. It played a role for the development of the commune.

Salvaterra do Extremo was one of the pre-2013 communes of Idanha-a-Nova Municipality; it had 170 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 82,1 km².
