It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain green field.

Shield Argent; a corn cob Or and a hydrangea Azure, both leafed Vert, crossed per saltire and tied Gules; in chief a 6-point star Azure. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "PEDRO MIGUEL".
Meaning:
The blue star is an attribute Our Lady of Help, the local patron saint.
