Shield Azure a pilgrim´s staff Argent with its gourd Or tied Or flanked by two keys Argent in pale with their wards pointing upwards and inwards, issuant from base a mound Or charged with a snake Sable scaled Argent animated and langued Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE SOUTELO E SEARA VELHA".

Soutelo e Seara Velha is one of the six communes of Chaves Municipality created by a merger during the 2013 changes. It had 461 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 18,12 km².

Shield Or a fleur-de-lis Azure, flanked in chief two keys Gules in pale with their wards pointing upwards and inwards, issuant from the base a mound Sable charged with a snake Argent scaled Sable animated Gules and langued Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "SOUTELO - CHAVES".
Meaning:
The fleur-de-lis is an attribute of St. Mary, the local patron saint.
