It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain green field.

Shield Or, a bundle of three walnut branches Vert fruited Argent and tied Gules, issuant from base a mount of two coupeaux Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "NOGUEIRA - BRAGANÇA".
Meaning:
"Nogueira" is Portuguese for "walnut tree", of which the arms show branches, in a case of canting heraldry.
