New Arms and the brand new flag adopted officially on December 29, 2008
after the approval of the Heraldic Commission and Ministry of Internal
Affairs and Administration in Warsaw was obtained on November 28, 2008
and received in Człuchów on December 10, 2008.
The old Arms were adopted on February 19, 2003 (resolution # IV/20/2003).
"Arms: on the blue, Spanish-style shield a white bovine (Bos taurus)
laying, with the head turned to the right. Behind it a simple white cross.
The cross is there to commemorate the ownership of the area by the
Komturia of the Teutonic Knights.
But the color is changed from black to white to stress the spirit of
conciliation and to forget and forgive all the past wars, pains, mistrust
and revenge among the nations.
Flag: a rectangle in the ratio 3:5 composed of three equal horizontal
bands: white-blue-white.
The colors were chosen to stress the values of Christian-European culture
and are reflection of the colors of the Arms of the commune.
