The oldest mention of the settlement date back to the 13th century,
when it was owned by Prince Bolek I of Świdnik-Jawor Principality.
The name is related to the abundance of the fir trees in the area.
In the 16th century the first mineral water springs were discovered
and in 1723 the place became a spa - Charlottenbrunn - named after the
wife of the owner - Hans Christopher Baron von Seherr-Thoss.
It is famous mostly for curing respiratory ailments - asthma in particular.
The original Arms of the town were adopted in 1748 (pictured in the Heraldic Album of Otton Hupp) and show the red pavillon (gazebo) with the fountain bursting from the mineral water spring. It stands on the green grass and the background is silver (white). On the fence around the gazebo is a heraldic shield with the Arms of the families: von Seherr-Thoss and Von Puckler.
The modern emblem of Jedlina-Zdrój (in use until now) clashed with the rules of heraldry, therefore a civic association - "Friends of Jedlina-Zdrój" designed new set of symbols, collected enough signatures of the residents of the town, and forced the town council to submit them for approval to the Heraldic Commission in Warsaw.
The new Arms are a slightly modified version of the German Coat of Arms,
major difference is the replacement of the black Prussian eagle on the
top of the gazebo with the black eagle of the Piast Princes.
The brand new flag contains the basic heraldic colors of the Arms:
green, red and white.
