Presentation of Plasnica

The municipality of Plasnica (in Turkish, Plasnitsa; 4,545 inhabitants; 54.44 sq. km), located in western North Macedonia, is made of the village of Plasnica and the three settlements of Dvorci, Licičani and Preglovo.
Plasnica is one of the two North Macedonia municipalities with an ethnic Turkish majority (4,446; 98%), the other being Centar Župa.

Flag of Plasnica

The flag elements and colours seem to have been derived from the municipal coat of arms, whose upper part is charged with a yellow crescent (symbolizing the Turkish population?) pointing upwards surmounted by a red star outlined in yellow (therefore similar to the star of Socialist Yugoslavia and Socialist Macedonia) and placed over a red disk.
The flag is shown as vertical on the Macedonian Ministry of Local Self-Government website (first version, page no longer online), and as horizontal on the Macedonian Ministry of Local Self-Government website (second version, page no longer online, either).
