This is the North Korean naval ensign on warships.

Photos, which show this flag, you can see on the following pages:

The naval ensign is a red flag with Paektu Mountain in rays in a disc with
national color outlines and a red star. Blue and white horizontal stripes are
placed in lower part of the ensign:

There is also a version for warships with the honorary title of 'Guard': in
this case the 'rising sun' emblem is moved towards the hoist, with the Guards
badge placed near the fly.

In all likelihood, there are rank flags of this ensign.

A naval ensign with the 'rising sun'
emblem and a yellow map of North Korea, which is topped with a red star.
Jens Pattke, 07 November 2012
That 'yellow map' is actually the Guards badge (which does not show its
details very well on that photo). If you look very carefully you can see a
tricolour flag on the top of that emblem, which along with the red star and
yellow background resembles the DPRK Guards badge. See
this for an image of the bagde. This is why I insist the flag is the Guards
ensign.

the North Korean naval ensign for warships with the honorary title of 'Guard'.
Similar to the normal naval ensign, but with the 'rising sun' emblem moved
towards the hoist, and with the Guards badge placed near the fly. On actual
badges there are hangul writings at the bottom of the wreath, apparently
denoting the hierarchy of the wearers.

The Naval Jack is similar to the Naval Ensign but a red star is placed on a
white disc instead of the Paektu Mountain emblem.
