The emblem of the University of Hyogo is based on the color scheme of blue and gold, which symbolizes the university's profound intellect and bright future, and represents the university's three principles of "education, research, and contribution to society," which will develop together with the local community and contribute to the world and mankind. UH is based on the initials of "University of Hyogo" and represents the three pillars of the University of Hyogo's three principles: education, research, and social contribution, symbolizing a university rooted in the community. The shield is a symbolic representation of the prestige and tradition of the university and symbolizes the establishment of an unshakable position as a comprehensive university. As a comprehensive university that is open to the world and develops together with the local community, the emblem symbolizes the University of Hyogo is made up of a circle of society (local community and the world) and people (prefectural residents, students, faculty and staff). MMIV represents the opening year of 2004 in Roman numerals. The use of gold represents a bright and brilliant future. Cerulean blue is used to represent freshness and expansion into the world. The dark blue color represents intelligence and gravity, and represents a center of knowledge where infinite search for truth is conducted.
