Description of the flag

The flag of Maysan Governorate is white with the governorate logo placed over it. It appears the diagonal variant is older than the non-diagonal variant.

The logo of Maysan Governorate depicts a tall Iraqi national flag to the left; a sail for sailboats over the Tigris River, which carries a bridge and its supports to symbolize transport. In the center, half of a cogwheel appears for industry. Above this are two palm leaves for the palm industry, with regards to date palms. At the bottom is half of an open book for education, and to its right waves under the bridge. Under all of this is Maysan Governorate in Arabic.
