Presentation of Metamorfosi

The municipality of Metamorfosi, known before 1957 as Koukouvaounes (Κουκουβάουνες) (29,891 inhabitants in 2011; 550 ha); is a suburbs in the northern part of Athens agglomeration.
The municipality was not changed with the 2011 local government reform.

Flag of Metamorfosi

The flag of Metamorfosi (Kokkonis website; photo) is white with an outer dark red border and a thinner inner light brown border. On the white pannel is the emblem of the municipality with its name below. The main element of the emblem is an owl, symbolizing of course Athena, the goddess of knowledge, purity, arts, crafts, learning, justice, and wisdom.
