The flag and arms of Bayuba de Arriba are prescribed by an Agreement
adopted on 19 December 2017 by the Municipal Council, signed on 27
February 2018 by the Mayor and published on 8 March 2018 in the official
gazette of Castilla y León, No. 48, p. 9,417 (text).
The symbols, which were validated on 29 December 2017 by the Chronicler of Arms of Castilla y León, are described as follows.
Flag: Rectangular, in proportions 3:2 (length on width). Horizontally tierced, with the central stripe twice wider than the outer ones, which are blue and the central, white. In the center, the municipal coat of arms.
Coat of arms: Spanish shield, per pale, 1. Argent, the "rooster's fountain" [photo, photo] with a pedestal proper and ironwork sable surmounted by three bells sable in fess, the dexter bell of smaller size and the central charged with a bezant or, 2. Or a pine vert the trunk proper surmounted by a plow sable. in base azure two fesses wavy argent. The shield surmounted by a Royal Spanish crown closed.
The bells belong to the Nuestra Señora de la Asunción parish church. The
bezant recalls that the Jesús y Santa María bell (photo), cast in 1682, was
pierced by a bullet during the Carlist Wars.
The pine recalls that resin was once the main source of income in the
village.
