Skyliners Frankfurt were established in 1999 after the purchase of the professional licence of TV Rhöndorf, a club founded in 1912 in Bad Honnef. The club is currently named Fraport Skyliners for its main sponsor, the Frankfurt International Airport. Frankfurt Skyliners won the German Cup (BBL-Pokal) in 2000 and the German Championship in 2004. In 2015, Frankfurt Skyliners finished 6th at the end of the regular season and were registered for the FIBA Europe Cup. on 1 May 2016, they won the Final Four in Chalon-sur-Saâne (France), defeating Pallacanestro / Openjobmetis Varese (Italy), 91:82.
