Meaning:
The arms ar based on the personal arms of Caspar März, granted in 1502 by Duke Albrecht IV of Bayern. The former had been provost of the Benediktbeuern Abbey. According to source the shield is J-shaped, alluding to the initial of the municipalitiy's name.

Banner and arms were approved on 3 August 1959 by Minister of Interior of Bayern. A banner is however not in official use.
