Shield Azure a triplemount issuant Argent, the outer peaks topped by firs of the same, above of the central peak an impending stone hammer Or in pale, chief Or a fess Azure.
Meaning:
The triplemount with firs is symbolising the name of the municipality and is referring to the local landscape. The hammer is alluding to the economic importance of granite quarries. The chief is derived from the family arms of the Barons Nothaft of Weißenstein, who made Friedenfels capital of the Lordship of Weißenstein. The family built the local castle in 1582 and owned the local district (Bavarian: Hofmark) until 1882.
