Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess and five times divided per pale into red and silver (= white) (top) and silver (=white) and red (bottom). A wheel with eight spokes in counterchanged colours is superimposing the whole.
Meaning:
The "background" displays the arms of the Lords of Rosenberg, while the wheel is symbolizing the Archbishopric and Electorate of Mainz.

The coat of arms was adopted by the local council in December 1895, suggested by General State Archive Karlsruhe. Banner and coat of arms were approved/confirmed on 25 September 1979 by the county administration, published in GABl 255/1980.
